Concept
... grow beyond yourself,
instead of pulling yourself together ...
The Antagonist Balancing Concept (A.B.C.) is a method, that allows us to recognise disadvantageous patterns of tension in our (working-) positions and our behaviour and how to reorganize those patterns to prevent afflictions.
The A.B.C. is based on the "conscious constructive control of the individual" by F.M. Alexander, findings from spiraldynamic of the human body, healthoriented sports, martial arts and corrective physical education.

ABOUT
Richard Reisenberger-Littasy initiated the Antagonist Balancing Concept in 2022 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as a result of a 2 year intensive training-course with a team of 5 students. Researching and developing ways to communicate transformative instructions, to create and cultivate what could be called “conscious/constructive calm” or “expanding/landing qualities”
A spinal injury at the age of 9 started Richard’s research and training career
around the possibilities and impossibilities or Do’s and Dont´s of spinal health.
Experimenting with corrective postural exercises, physiotherapy, yoga and different martial arts for many years & his Teacher-training of the Alexander Technique from 2016-2019 as well as his ongoing Taiji Quan enthusiasm significantly influenced the ongoing research-project that is now called the Antagonist Balancing Concept or short A.B.C.
Richard is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. He teaches Textile-Techniques and the A.B.C to students and members of the staff.
At invitation he travels around Europe and abroad to introduce the A.B.C at other Universities/Institutions.
